Always consider your safety net and have a "what if"
This campaign tip (no. 125) was published on Sunday, 5th May 2019
I still recall - over a decade ago now - the chap who came round to our home when I put a piece in the local newspaper to suggest the Melksham's residents meet up to discuss the slashing of train services that had been sneaked on us (one line on page 70 of a 246 page consultation what hadn't even been advertised at the station or anywhere else I had seen until it had closed). I was ... so livid and concerned ... that I had been sprung from my boring suburban life into action.
The advise - from someone who I had never met before - was wise. "You have a massive task ahead to change things and the chances of success are, frankly, limited. Ensure you don't get in so deep that you throw resources at it that you don't have ... and ensure you have away out if that turns out to be prudent"
