Title: SR Merchant Navy Class 35018 'British India Line', Templecombe 9th July 2019
Post by: JayMac on July 09, 2019, 13:53:02
Video below of Southern Railway Merchant Navy Class 35018 'British India Line' steaming through Templecombe, Tuesday 9th July 2019. En route from London Victoria to Yeovil Junction. The train continued diesel hauled from Yeovil Junction to Weymouth via Yeovil Pen Mill.

I have to praise the few dozen locals at the station for safely watching the train pass. No concerns from those of us who have access to non-public parts of the station. The Friends of Templecombe Station allowed a few people onto the footbridge to view, photograph and film too.

I did rather get covered in smuts. Was also glad I had my glasses on!

BIL's first outing back on Southern metals was last Saturday (06/07/19) on the Railway Touring Company's misleadingly named 'Bournemouth Belle' from London Victoria to Weymouth.

Seen here at the site of Upwey Wishing Well Halt whilst simmering at the rear on the return journey (https://www.flickr.com/photos/pwakely/48233874702/in/dateposted-public/)
