Boden Rail are offering 50017 and 50050 for sale. They are priced at a minimum of 120k each as both are fully main line registered. The Class 50s are being sold to start raising money to fund moving or start over due to HS2 and its impact on the Washwood Heath site. Both locomotives are fitted with GSMR and all required safety systems.

Class 50 (along with perhaps classes 33, 37 and 47 ?) are one of the few classes of heritage diesel of which a significant number have been preserved (18) with 5 mainline certified and a sixth said to just require GSM-R radio for the purpose.   Perhaps they could form the nucleus of an open access service - say 3 or 4 diagrams.  Good route availability as I recall, but I suspect they're not push-pull fitted ...
