From a press release sent to me by the Family Holiday Association, in association with Great Western Railway:

Seaside Walk Week finale walk taking place in Weston-super-Mare on 4th June with free travel on the GWR network

Seaside Walk Week returns this spring for its second year, encouraging the nation to explore the Great British coastline with family and friends. The walks will take place across the May Spring Bank Holiday week, with an official finale walk at Weston-super-Mare, the natural choice for Seaside Walk Week, on Saturday 4th June.

Walkers will be able to enjoy free rail travel to the walk on the Great Western Railway network, courtesy of GWR and subject to availability.

Led by knowledgeable local guides, the walk will start at the railway station before heading for the Town Hall, Winter Gardens and Royal Crescent, then on to the seafront and its views across the two bays. A ^walk on the waves^ over the Marine Lake causeway will bring walkers back along the seafront to finish at the new Tourist Information Centre and Cafe.

The walk will be at a leisurely pace and is suitable for walkers of all ages. It offers plenty of opportunities to take in the beautiful Somerset seashore and local surroundings.

With a donation of just ^10 per adult (aged over 16) and ^2.50 for children aged 5 to 16, walkers will be helping a worthwhile charity, be able to access free train travel with Great Western Railway and experience a great day out.

For more information or to book your place on the walk and claim free GWR train travel, please visit SeasideWalkWeek.org.uk.

Created by the Family Holiday Association, who are the only national charity dedicated to providing seaside breaks and day trips for families struggling with some of the toughest challenges life can bring. Seaside Walk Week will encourage people across the UK to spend time together at the seaside whilst raising awareness and funds for the charity, enabling their work in helping more struggling families to enjoy the benefits of a holiday by the coast.
