Title: How things have changed
Post by: grahame on December 07, 2014, 19:24:04
How things have changed ... I left Swindon on a Swansea train, took a sharp right out of the station, and we quickly gathered speed, passing a train coming the other way about five minutes out.  A pressure onthe ears told me that we had reached Kemble tunnel, and sure enough a few seconds later we raced through the station without any noticable speed difference.

I've just tested the boadband here, and got a 6.11 Mbps download and 0.10 Mbps upload via a network called "FGW Wifi".

Two improvements which I'm sure are going to make it much more attractive for me to use the train to get to Swansea on Sundays when the Severn Tunnel is shut.

I expect the WiFi speeds will decrease once the service is advertised and more than a couple of people per carriage are using it at the same time.
