Title: How many cliches can you get into a sentence?

I was reading something that was serious and got sidetracked into cliche overload.

I feel personally, after 35 years campaigning around the Oxbridge Rail Link, we are at both the 11th hour and a new dawn with much uncertainty hanging in the balance.

At the end of the day, they need to keep on track to stop it going of the rails at this moment in time.

I remember hearing a Union leader tell an interviewer,

"I'm going to jump off that bridge when I come to it."

C'mon Grahame, don't get your knickers in a twist, this is as old as the hills, just read between the lines and only time will tell if you got out of bed the wrong side. Just tense up your nerves of steel, don't cry over spilt milk and take advantage of the calm before the storm and eventually you'll find that every cloud has a silver lining.

After the breakup of the USSR one of the new presidents gave a monthly broadcast giving updates of the political and economic situation.

One month he reported: "Last month I stated we were on the edge of a precipice, this month I am pleased to report we have taken a big step forward."

...but when all's said and done, you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs. That might leave you sick as a parrot but remember it's a game of two halves, look on the bright side and if life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Stay hungry, that way you can bring home the bacon and put bread on the table, but never eat yellow snow or you'll go tits up (dot com) and be swimming with the fishes.
