Bosses at the broadcasting corporation say its base in Whiteladies Road might not be suitable in the digital age.

Staff have been told that a review has been launched with the aim of finding a site "fit for the 21st-century digital future".

The offices, which sit on a three-acre plot, could fetch up to ^15 million on the property market and would be a prime site for redevelopment.

However, one option for the BBC is to refurbish its offices and stay in Whiteladies Road.

The organisation, which made improvements to the foyer area at the Whiteladies Road base only two years ago, says it wants to set up a world-class digital production centre in the city.
