Title: Ticket prices to rise by 30%
Post by: martyjon on July 11, 2007, 07:35:39
Heard twice this am (11/07/07) on Radio 4 that a report in todays Times states that the government has done a secret deal with train companies to raise ticket prices by 30% over the next 8 years. This is an attempt by the government to rid the privatised rail industry of its reliance on public subsidy of ^6 1/2 billion annual subsidy.

Maybe someone with a bit more time than me can investigate and post the link to The Times article.
