Title: New Years Honours, 2012

Kulvinder Bassi, Community Rail Team Leader, Department for Transport, is awarded an MBE for services to transport.

I've met him once, at a meeting, and he made a point of offering me his help and assistance: well done, Kulvinder!

Kul is a really REALLY good friend to Community Rail ... though I have rather lost touch since I moved from the mainstream to the sidewaters of community rail five years ago.  I am delighted to see his picture and a CV on the railings at Filton Abbey Wood when changing trains there a few days ago.

Someone was asking yesterday after Kul. His profile tells me that he's currently "Stations and Accessibility Policy Manager at Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom". I hope to meet him again some day.
