A 66-year-old man has been charged with a drink driving offence after colliding with a woman on his mobility scooter.

The 85-year-old pedestrian was injured outside West Kirkby train station in Wirral at about 15:15 BST on Saturday, Merseyside Police said.

She suffered a deep cut to her left leg which required hospital treatment.

The man has been charged with driving a mechanically propelled vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
