Guess what? Today is International Level Crossing Awareness Day 2018.

It's not something that Network Rail make a big fuss about, or even a little one. They do, however, have a page listing contacts etc. on the ILCAD web site (http://www.ilcad.org/ILCAD-2018.html), and sent someone to the conference.

ILCAD gets most publicity from SNCF, who invented it, and then persuaded IUC to adopt it. IUC run a conference - this year's is in Zagreb. Confusingly, it's called the ILCAD launch conference; I think some countries run an annual campaign that starts today.
