Do you recognise this man? British Transport Police appeal for information after theft of luggage ^ Cheltenham Spa

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public^s help to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a passenger^s property from a train at Cheltenham Spa rail station.

Officers have today released a CCTV image of a man they believe will have information which can assist the investigation into the incident which took place on Friday, 11 January.

Investigating officer, PC Frank Hedley, said: ^The victim, who was travelling on the 1712hrs service from Birmingham New Street to Bristol Temple Meads, placed her large, navy-coloured suitcase in the luggage area in the vestibule of the carriage. When she checked it at Cheltenham Spa, she realised her case, which contained clothing, toiletries and a laptop computer, was missing.

"Enquiries are ongoing to find the person responsible. After reviewing CCTV images, I would now like to identify and speak to the man in this photograph as I believe he will have key information which can assist the investigation. The man got off the train at Cheltenham Spa station.^

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In all calls, please quote incident reference B6/WWA of 13/02/2013.
