Title: 43181 "Devonport Royal Dockyard 1693-1993" - reinstatement of nameplates
Post by: Pb_devon on June 18, 2013, 12:34:07
Class 43 loco 43181 has lost its nameplates after work at Brush.  Its been suggested to me that a note to FGW might lead to their reinstatement.  Who would you suggest is the best person to contact?

explanatory note: the loco was named to mark the tricentenary of the Dockyard at Plymouth Station on 25 November 1993 by Vice-Admiral Sir Roy Newman.  Representatives from the Royal Navy, the dockyard company, and yours truly then enjoyed breakfast to Exeter where we retired to the hostelry opposite before returning to Plymouth.  It would be nice to have them back on for the 20 year anniversary (gosh - where's the time gone  :o )

Thanks for posting that, Pb_devon.

I've mentioned this particular topic to senior people at First Great Western, and await their response.

Hope this helps,

Chris.  ;)

Wow, I'm impressed, and late at night as well. Thanks Chris.
So that's what's meant by a "24 hour railway"   :D ;D
