Title: A new year laugh.
Post by: smokey on December 29, 2007, 14:10:08
Being the Season of good will and all that, A little something to share that proves things have always gone "off the rails".

Back in the days when trains ran with Steam and Stations had Masters, a freight train had a wagon pouring smoke from the axle box, and the Signalman arranged to drop the defective wagon off in the yard of a small country station, so after shunting the Defective wagon into the Cripple siding the frieght train carried on it's way. The Station Master (SM) sent a clerk to take the Defective Wagons details, Number Load and Destination, the clerk came back and gave the SM some unwanted news, the Wagon contained HORSES.

The SM went Purple and got straight onto Control demanding to Know What Moronhad put horses in a standard wagon and not the Requlation Horse Box.

Being a Horse Rider himself the SM sent the clerk to the nearest farm for Hay and water, the clerk was soon back with the farmer and his Tractor and Trailer.
To get the Suppies to the Wagon meant bouncing the Trailer OVER several sidings but with the Farmer The SM, and all the Station Staff pulling and Pushing they eventually got the trailer to the Crippled Wagon, "WELL DONE LADS" said the SM, and the Wagon door was slid open to unveil in the Sunlight dozens of horse faces, Lifeless painted wooden rocking horse faces.

Hope that raised a laugh. It's true by the way.
