Your cheapest standard class walk-up fare options, leaving on Friday evening and returning on Sunday, are:
London Waterloo to Tisbury ^39.50 London Paddington to Westbury ^133.00 Over three times the price to go one extra mile, because of FGW's evening peak restrictions. Even if you hang around for about three hours to qualify for a saver ticket, it's still going to cost you 22% more for a journey that is just 1% longer. South West Trains offer something like Value for Money, First Great Western are related to Dick Turpin, Highway Robbery. The beauty of FGW is that many people book well in advance when going to London, hence it is very cheap!
