Title: Heritage Railway posts - anything 'preservation' related, including Railtours
Post by: Chris from Nailsea on December 25, 2014, 17:57:39
This new board on the Coffee Shop forum has been created to contain all discussion topics on the subjects of preserved (usually steam) railway lines, heritage rolling stock, narrow gauge lines, railway museums and archive material.

Many existing topics on the forum have now been moved here, to seed this new board, as a hopefully useful reference / resource.

Please do post here with any items of 'preservation' interest to our readers - we can always learn from the past, after all!  :)

I have updated the title of this board and its description to include modern leisure railways and attractions too - not just old / heritage stuff.   Basically, if its something to do with rail(ways) but not primarily used as a ways and means of getting (people or products) from "A" to "B" via the main network then it logically comes in here.

An (incomplete) list, then .. preserved lines, miniature railways, museums, artefacts ... and I wonder if things like railwayman auctions, and railway clubs, should come in here too?

Not just Wiltshire members.  Having recently visited the area around Marlborough which I don't know well, I'd like to find out about the railways in the area.  Thanks for the tip.
