First Great Western ticket machines not accepting card payments

Ticket machines at First Great Western stations are having problems accepting card payments today.

The train operator said it had received numerous calls about problems with credit cards, and added there appears to be a 'network wide issue'.

FGW tweeted to say the machines will be unable to accept card payments 'until further notice'.

Updates to follow.

UPDATE 1.30pm:
Card payments are now being accepted in the Thames Valley area.
