Title: Parking at Farnborough Main
Post by: argg on July 02, 2015, 13:40:59
Hi.  Assuming a house move takes place (fingers crossed), I will soon be commuting several days a week from Farnborough to Waterloo.

Any advice on car parking and best ones to use (around 7.30)?

I am aware there are the Union St car parks in addition to the main one.  Do these fill up early?

I also saw somewhere that the main car park is only available to season ticket holders before 9am - is that true

Also what is the seat availability like morning and evening?

Thanks in advance

James

There was a poster printed a while back by SWT which showed which services were likely to have seats on, but I can't find it published online anywhere. Generally the fasts were the rammed ones and anything between 0730-0815 from what I remember. I had the displeasure of catching a service around 0800 once and pretty much had my face pushed up against the glass.

My understanding was the car park directly infront of the booking office was only for season ticket holders, but that may have changed. Even since the extra deck has been built on the other car park I've been told it gets pretty full, how rapidly however, I don't know.

Thanks Fourbee

Reckon I might have to pay for a FC ticket (= Fair Chance of getting a seat)
