Title: London Underground Industrial Action, Summer 2015
Post by: JayMac on July 14, 2015, 21:38:19
ASLEF have announced a strike. I was asking Timmer which others I've missed joining them in the strike

Talking about London Underground industrial action...

Unite have said they will join the strike action planned for 5th August.

RMT and TSSA are also party to the same dispute, having had ballots in favour of action, but haven't yet stated whether they will join this latest strike.

Tube union RMT confirmed that members across London Underground will be taking strike action from 1830 hours on Wednesday 5th August to 1829 hours on Thursday 6th August. The on-going overtime ban, which has already severely impacted on staff availability to run services, also continues.

The strike times for driver members will run slightly later, between 21.00 on 5th August to 20.59 on 6th August.

Let's hope the day is not too far off when Tube trains are fully automatic and able to run without drivers - I believe it's the case in some areas already, and I'm sure that every pointless strike and day of chaos in London catalyses TfL to push forward with this.

Fresh 24-hour Tube strike announced for 5 August

The Unite union said it would join the planned action, BBC London's transport correspondent Tom Edwards said.

Indeed, and if you read further down the *same* article.....

Quote
The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union, the Transport Salaried Staffs Association (TSSA) and Unite union have yet to indicate their position on the talks or the August strike.

Usual cr*p BBC journalism.....hearsay, then, at best, with nothing on the Unite website.

Is this also hearsay?

But it's not on the main Unite website so it can't possibly be correct. I mean, whoever heard of a website not being fully up to date?   ::)

And for the complete set:

Are you being deliberately obtuse?

The RMT's joining of the action was posted by Ollie in this very thread. The TSSA joining in is covered by that tweet from Tom Edwards that I posted and then you quoted. And you say you cant find it? Would you prefer it if I came to your door with a megaphone? Or put up a large billboard outside your house?

Are you actually reading my posts?

It appears not. So, for clarification.

ALL UNIONS THAT ARE PARTY TO THE DISPUTE WITH LONDON UNDERGROUND HAVE NOW CONFIRMED THEY WILL BE TAKING ACTION ON 5TH AND 6TH AUGUST.

Walking map showing minutes between tube stations on foot:

Note - there are more walking routes that tube lines - no need to walk along the circle to Notting Hill Gate and turn left onto the Cental.  You can make a direct pass from Paddington to Marble Arch
