Title: Overcrowding at St Germans.
Post by: LiskeardRich on August 02, 2015, 17:34:11
It may be possible St Germans will double its annual passenger numbers this weekend. A Large festival has taken place a 3 minute walk from the station.

Seems to have had a lot of famous names in the line up.

It has resulted in an addition stop for at least 1 service.

This train will call additionally at St Germans.
This is due to overcrowding because of an event

St Germans station whilst certainly not Clapham Junction manages can be surprisingly busy in Summer.   I understand that it has an active Rail User Group and that passenger numbers have climbed significantly.  It also has a pretty good service with a mixture of HSTs and local trains.  I would thoroughly recommend it as a base for exploring Cornwall without a car and you can even stay in a camping coach next to the station (camping is a misnomer - they are lovingly furnished)
