Great Western Coffee Shop

I have just boarded the 1749  X31 at Bridport going  to Axminster and there is a little old lady sitting on the bus having boarded in Dorchester to go to Martinstown. The driver forgot to go through Martinstown and the supervisor at Bridport told her to stay on the bus and it will be diverted to her destination on it on its way back to dorch. I don't think this very acceptable, surely it would warrant a taxi,  probably she will have an extra three hours on her trip.

The judgement of "is it acceptable" should be made, I suggest, by the little old lady.  But saying "told her" rather indicates she wasn't given any options?   I wonder if the bus operator will be charging the relevant local authority (assuming a buss pass is held) for her Axminster trip  ;)

No, she wasn't given an option, she is, I imagine, between 85 and 90 years old, she should have arrived in Martinstown at 1705, a 16 minute journey, whereas she will actually arrive about 2030. Not the best customer service.

Hopefully she has a mobile, but if not is/was offered the use of one, so someone can let a relative know what's going on.

Hmmmm.


In my employer's ethos, that would have meant an immediate taxi to her home address, with a bunch of flowers and sincere apologies.  :o





And a darned good kicking for the driver, out in the back yard.  ;D
