Title: 2E27 1608 Weymouth to Westbury - Maiden Newton 22/8
Post by: PhilWakely on August 23, 2015, 07:17:34
I was curious yesterday evening about the performance of the returning Wizard yesterday and whilst looking at realtimetrains, stumbled upon a curious entry at Maiden Newton for the 2E27 1608 Weymouth to Westbury service.

http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/P02048/2015/08/22/advanced (http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/P02048/2015/08/22/advanced)

It apparently arrived at MDN 40L despite leaving Dorchester West 1E. However, the service that 2E27 was due to cross at MDN, the 2O90 1537 Westbury to Weymouth, arrived and departed on time - and apparently arrived at DCW on time, 20 minutes before the recorded arrival time for 2E27 at MDN!

So, is the entry on RTT for the MDN arrival time for 2E27 simply wrong or was 2E27 held in the loop but off the platform for 40 minutes before being allowed to proceed? If so, how was the 'token' for the single line to DCW handed over?

Just curious!

Both token instruments failed at Maiden Newton so pilot working had to be set up.
