This looks like an act of vandalism even with the intent to cause injury the train CCTV could have been checked by the Police

It's the front ex-first class carriage, seat was the first one facing the front, on the left, if you stand with your back to the cab. It could only have been done recently as the screw was balancing and standing up - the seats were empty as it pulled in to Maidenhead so whoever did it got off before there, or moved seats at least. When we arrived two people got on and removed it. Impressive response.
