London to Taunton, Devon and Cornwall

Description of line

Double track from Reading via Newbury, Pewsey, Westbury, Taunton, Exeter and Newton Abbot to Plymouth. Mostly double track onwards from there to St. Austell, Truro and Penzance but with some short single line sections such as the Saltash bridge.


Service offered

Hourly, London to Plymouth. Many trains continue beyond. Some additional semifast trains from London to Taunton / Exeter. Also Virgin Cross Country services from Birmingham and beyond westwards from Taunton.
