Title: Where are unreserved seats on XC HST?
Post by: 81F on May 05, 2016, 08:53:14
A friend is travelling tomorrow from Birmingham to Newton Abbot, and wants to travel on the 1317 from New Street, which appears to be an HST. No reservations are available, so can anyone kindly advise where the unreserved seats are on a XC HST. Thanks.

To avoid any ambiguity -- reservations are/were available on this train but they appear to have all been taken up.

Why not do a 10 minute reservation?

Text TMR BHM NTA 1317 to 88008.

Can you get these on the HSTs which have manual reservations?

These HST's have electronic reservations unless they are not working

Not sure why reservations can't be made, just tried to make a dummy booking and it's letting me select a seat.
At present coach C only has one reserved seat in it, keep in mind that this is the coach where reservations can be made while the train is in service. Coach D is almost fully reserved with coaches E&G 2/3 reserved. Coach F is only showing around 1/3 reserved and reservations can't be made for that carriage once traditional reservations close at midnight.

Thank you -- I am amazed at the collective knowledge and wisdom so readily shared on this forum.
