I've now taken further liberties with grahame's forum and created a new board, Television programmes about railways (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?board=49.0), specifically for members to post about any television programmes with a railway content.  I have seeded that new board by moving quite a few previous topics from elsewhere on the Coffee Shop forum to that new board.

This particular topic will also be moved there, in a moment.  ;)

News the new series from the sad lonely man on the train Mr Portillo has begun on BBC TWO sorry I've only just found it Tuesday nights at nine pm or 21:00 if your not Captain Mainwaring ! Also on the I player .

Spotted earlier this week - "The Railway - Keeping Britain On Track" has appeared on Quest TV repeated at various times (freeview channel 37/38) - first seen on BBC2 in 2013

All the episodes of this series was shown regionally on BBC One at 19:30 last night - the 'Time' episode for example was shown in the West and South-West as it is somewhat GWR focused being the first railway to have to deal with the time issue being a predominantly long distance east-west rather than north-south railway.

This means that the whole series is already available on the iPlayer.

Rookie error.. Recorded BBC 1 "HD", got one about the Midlands DOH!!!

Oh well,  back to to to the the the iiiiiii-PPllllayer  ;D

I did the same ....and having watched it, found it quite tedious and boring !...not just because it was based around Derby. Liz McIvor is no Michael Portillo or even Ruth Goodman for keeping you engaged and interested. I hope subsequent programmes are an improvement !
