Title: New bridge near Chacewater
Post by: LiskeardRich on June 21, 2016, 22:11:29
The road over the railway at greenbottom near chacewater is to be closed from Monday 28th June until mid October for network rail to replace a rail bridge.

Does anyone know if the removal and rebuilding of the bridge is due to have any impact on the trains and times?

The existing bridge apparently is classed as dangerous.

There will be Rail Replacement buses operating but only for a fraction of this timespan.

Real Time Trains will show you the train service, although it may or may not show busses.  There should be a Bus Timetable on the GWR Website.

There isn't anything on either to indicate yet that I can find Phile. From robs post I guess the line closure may be at the latter end of the works?

I've just tweeted GWR as nothing on the upcoming engineering works on GWR website between now and October.
Also nothing on cross country upcoming engineering works page which stretched to Christmas.

Here is the details of the work planned and the prolonged road closure of one of busiest roads into Truro.

Apparently trains will run as normal with the works being done around the trains.

Whilst nothing major is planned, I wouldn't rule out some weekend rail replacement buses running. Information is posted on the GWR website 1 month in advance.

The new bridge opened as planned in October. What surprises me is that the recovery work adjacent, some five months later still is incomplete. A temporary acquisition of land to the E of the intersection of the Railline and Road was needed. Although some of the recovery seems to have occurred it's by no means complete. Three 'Orange Coats' with kit were examining the area today.
