Title: 43185 in 1988 Swallow livery
Post by: LiskeardRich on September 28, 2016, 22:26:49
43185 has been repainted into 1988 intercity Swallow livery.
It is being unveiled at a 40th anniversary event at the NRM York on Sunday 2nd October.
Due to move Laira to York on Friday morning leaving Laira at 0242, I guess to avoid being seen! Typically I'm not working on Friday morning or I would of gone out a little early to see it leave Laira, as when I work I start at 4am in Plymouth.

To save you getting up that early, you can have it on a fridge magnet:

I think that may have been the first time round!

Travelling upto York with 43002. Two heritage liveries will make quite a photo shot for those that are interested.

The picture is from Paddington, 16th June 1995.

43185 will travel to York paired with BR blue/yellow 43002 'sir Kenneth Grange'. The man himself is guest if honour on Sunday 2nd at the National Railway Museum.

Joining GWR's 43185 in British Rail's 'Swallow' livery is LNER Class 91, 91119.

Released into the wild today from Bounds Green TMD. Currently headed to Leeds on the 1633 from King's Cross.

There was a discussion on twitter between GWR & LNER about getting the pair side by side in Paddington next year...very positive it sounded
