Title: Trouble upt Branch (Problem with Signalling at Bourne End 29/11/2016)
Post by: SandTEngineer on November 29, 2016, 19:14:06
Seems there is a significant problem with the signalling at Bourne End:
Quote
Alterations to services between Bourne End and Marlow Due to a fault with the signalling system between Bourne End and Marlow all lines are blocked.
Impact:
Train services running to and from these stations have been suspended. Marlow will not be served. Disruption is expected until 01:00 01/12.
Customer Advice:
A fault with the signalling system between Maidenhead and Marlow means we are currently unable to run services between Marlow and Bourne End. Specialist Network Rail engineers have been on site attempting to rectify the fault today, with limited success.
An hourly service will operate between Maidenhead and Bourne End ONLY, with connecting road transport continuing between Bourne End and Marlow. These services will depart Maidenhead at XX:38 and Bourne End at XX:17.
Through services from London Paddington to Bourne End are unable to access the branch and will therefore terminate at Maidenhead. Passengers should change at Maidenhead for services to Bourne End.
After the 20:44 Maidenhead to Bourne End and 21:17 return; the entire branch will be SUSPENDED; Road Transport will be in operation between Maidenhead and Marlow calling all stations.
At the present time disruption is expected to continue throughout the entire day tomorrow. As per today, Marlow to Bourne End services WILL NOT RUN, and we will aim to run a full service between Bourne End and Maidenhead, including through trains from Bourne End to London Paddington. Replacement Road Transport is now being sourced to cover tomorrow as well.
Chiltern Railways will accept GWR Tickets between High Wycombe and London Marylebone tomorrow.

Needs a locking fitter. So sounds like the ground frame at Bourne End itself.

Ground frame long gone now electric points with point indicators (disguised as signals) interlocked with the tokens and released from TVSC (formerly Slough). All housed in  a hut.

Heard a rumour it might be something to with the trickle charger.

Interesting. Wonder what the locking fitters are going to do then.
