Title: Cathedrals express - morning
Post by: CobboldCamper on January 14, 2017, 08:57:49
Has anyone else noticed the only advance fares offered on this service is now first class?  it doesn't matter how far in advance you book, even if on the day they release the next tranche, or from where you book.   I've contacted GWR several times times to ask if they have consciously withdrawn all standard advance fares on this service but they haven't replied....

Advance Purchase fares are sold to fill spare capacity. If a service is consistently filling with full fare and season ticket passengers then it's likely that Advance Purchase fares will be severely limited or unavailable.

I suspect the 0642 from Hereford to Paddington is one such train. Passenger numbers have increased such that there isn't the capacity or need to attract additional revenue with cheaper Advance Purchase fares.

However, book far enough ahead with this service and you can get a 1st Class Advance from many stations en route that's cheaper than the Std Anytime Single.
