Title: Pullman from Reading to Devon - a question
Post by: oxviem on February 07, 2017, 21:06:05
A quick question to the wisdom of the forum:

I was wondering if you can board (& dine!) on the devon bound evening Pullman's from Reading or do you need to board at Paddington in order to get a meal?

The website implies you can but I was wondering if anyone has done this in practice/has any knowledge of it?

Many thanks!

You can certainly board at Reading and dine if there are seats available.

If you are travelling early in the week you stand a better chance of getting a seat.  Thursday and Friday tend to fill the available spaces from Paddington.

However if you are travelling first class you can reserve a seat even if joining at Reading.

Yes, as above you can join at Reading and take a meal provided that space remains.

Do be aware though that on busy days all seats may be taken before departure from Paddington.

On very busy days you are lucky to get a seat anywhere on the train from Reading ! let alone a dining seat.
