Cambridge would be too easy. Assuming the bus has been sent for its holiday to cover a large event somewhere.

Actually I know the new Cambridge park and ride buses were sent on loan to Merseyside and south Lancashire before ever going near Cambridge, due to cascade issues left Merseyside short of buses,

Your assumption is correct

Actually I know the new Cambridge park and ride buses were sent on loan to Merseyside and south Lancashire before ever going near Cambridge, due to cascade issues left Merseyside short of buses,

But it wasn't on holiday anywhere in the wider Liverpool or Wigan areas!

We could start a new thread 'Buses seen far from home' - but there is already a similar page in the  Buses magazines.
Saw 4  red double deck Volvos in convoy, minus number plates (but with TfL roundels) pulling out of the Royal Portbury Dock slip road fo get on the M5. at about 10am on Friday morning.

I suspect that there's not too many of our readers who also subscribe to bus magazines ... which is probably a reason to not post too many of these.  I recall a Sheffield labelled but at Trowbridge during TPOD2 ... (not this picture!) ...

Where's that?  :P

Sorry, my pedant radar went off. As a former resident of that town, it always stands out when the letter 'e' is used one too many times.  ;)

Hmm - I was looking at the extra "E".  We established I was in Swindon yesterday just earlier in this thread  ;)

When Routemasters were scrapped, many of them went abroad as promotions and party vehicles. I saw a few in Warsaw, where I happened to be at the time. There can't be many vehicles so iconic of one town* as a red Routemaster. I can think of yellow cabs, San Francisco cable cars... not sure what else.

*Even if actually used elsewhere too.

Punts?  (Given that this thread started out with a picture of a Cambridge bus)

and it wasn't just limited to Routemasters, some Leyland Atlanteans also (like this one apparently headed for Westward Ho! via Barnstaple from downtown Victoria BC)........

Funny, I thought westward ho! from Victoria would take you across the Pacific...

Good examples above (though not all of the Blackpool trams are that distinctive – but the ones that are, definitely are). I suppose black cabs still say "London" to most of the world.
