Title: Unusual departure at Paddington
Post by: Boppy on April 18, 2017, 13:33:49
Just saw a loco pulling passenger carriages depart Paddington.

I think the code is 5Z19 - assuming it's moving empty stock?

The inbound working was from West Ealing which suggests a 387, although why would that need dragging to North Pole?

There's an earlier cancelled move from West Ealing sidings to Reading which would have been a loco hauled move.

Perhaps something has changed at quite short notice, and if the EMUs had been specifically prepared for haulage by a loco, they may have just carried on using the loco.?

That's booked to be 387's dragged out to North Pole by a 57.  I'm guessing here but maybe it's Class 57 drivers training to couple to and haul the 387's
