Title: Yeovil Jct to Yeovil Pen Mill SUNDAY 16 July
Post by: bradshaw on July 15, 2017, 17:22:52
SWT seem to be running an intensive service between these stations in connection with Yeovil Show. Damory Coaches are running a free bus from Pen Mill to the show ground in Two Tower lane.

I am intrigued by this service..........
2Z09 0809 Salisbury to Yeovil Pen Mill (http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Q70164/2017/07/16/advanced)
Including a stop at Wilton  - or is that just to allow a service to come off the single line ??

Did you not hear. Instead of re-opening Wilton North it was decided to re-open the South station. At least one platform still in situ so saves money.  ;D ;)

The stop is to allow the up service from Yeovil to clear the single line

That was my original thought. However RTT usually highlights such stops in black, whilst passenger stops are highlighted in blue.

Indeed it's showing as a passenger stop according to RTT's only help guide

Opentraintimes was also treating it as a calling train, that site also has buttons to show or hide 'calls', so I expect it must be an accidental error in the underlying data.

its single line threw wilton station... wilton junction is a separate recording point and is the end of the passing loop trains pass there

All went well until ( yet another) signalling problem at Tisbury. Shuttle cancelled and returned via Westbury. Most service Trains diverted via Westbury for some hours. Friends catching the 1722 from CKN saw their connecting service to BTN in front at Westbury!
