Title: Arteficial intelligence - still embryonic.
Post by: grahame on July 16, 2017, 07:14:27
Last night, I was with passengers at Melksham Station waiting for the 21:55 to Chippenham - showing up as on time, but then a track machine (tamper ?) came through.  I was able to predict straight off that the passenger train would be about 15 minutes late, with the following Westbury service about 10 late ... and so it proved. Systems took some time to catch up with this as the algorithms remain crude / embryonic.

Amazon sellers have been experimenting with AI for a number of years now, but the company clearly wasn't keeping an eye on the mischievous bot that recently had its way with their 'phone accessories' section.
