Title: Hold it!

06:23 Bristol Parkway to Penzance due 11:26
Facilities on the 06:23 Bristol Parkway to Penzance due 11:26.
Toilet facilities are not available.
This is due to a fault on this train.

Oh sh*t ...

Open for puns and jokes - but never the less a serious issue on a long journey!

Any chance of an extra stop at Looe?

It is a serious issue. Would a train be allowed to stop for an extra minute or two at appropriate intermediate stations in these circumstances?

e.g. a couple of minutes at each of Exeter, Plymouth and Truro should allow necessary relief for all.

Service calls at Temple Meads for 7 minutes, Exeter St Davids for 3 and Plymouth for 5 ... if its on time. But how near to the loo does it stop, and how long a queue might you end up with?

The facilities at Plymouth station are mostly closed due to yesterday's incident.

Whilst acknowledging the severity of the problem, it is probably one of those very rare occasions when the railways are unable to take the p**s out of their customers.

Well I enjoy taking the p**s, but as an older person, I also know that I couldn't travel much further than Bristol to Exeter without needing to use the loo, and know the same applies to many others of my age. I would be interested to know what would happen if I had had an advance ticket for that service, and had either chosen to travel on a later service because of its lack of toilets, or had used it but got out at Exeter and then caught a later one for the same reason.

I would like to think and I'm sure GWR would make an exception in this situation because they were unable to provide a train with the usual facilities.
