Title: Least reliable train?
Post by: simonw on August 15, 2017, 13:57:15
Out of curiosity, what is GWR's least reliable train journey?

Over the past ten days, the 0623 BPW-PNZ has been cancelled three times (today, 11th Aug and I think it was 3rd Aug) at short notice, typically 0615, for variety of reasons,  including mechanical fault, signal problems, staff availability.

However each day the 0642 from BTM to PNZ is slated as running. Is there an underlying story here, or is this train just very unlucky at the moment?

Just for clarity it was the 2nd rather than the 3rd and on that occasion started from Exeter.

Also just to add to your list, the 11th of July it also started at temple meads.

From Exeter St Davids, I would certainly rank the 1636 and 1746 SWT services to HON/AXM as the most unreliable. Somebody merely has to sneeze on the SWT network and they'll cancel them. Today being a fine example...(albeit a rather big sneeze!)
