Title: Name of our TOC
Post by: grahame on September 27, 2017, 18:46:31
There has been some confusion as to the name of the train company operating in the South West of England and South Wales.  They were previously FGW (First Great Western) and they are now GWR (Great Western Railway).  There have been some mixed up combinations appearing, and in order to avoid confusing people visiting the site I've put a software mapping in to change doubtful combinations to the current "GWR" setting.

There should be no problem for people ending the old or new name correctly.   Corruption being corrected are in line with forum agreements to be correct in what you post ... so you should use the correct name  ;D

 :P ;) :D

So as there's no further confusion going forward I won't used the now banned abbreviation. I'll spell out what I mean fully.

My personal interpretation, used in posts where I'm not happy with the TOC providing services in the Greater Western Area.

To aid clarity I've edited posts going back to when I first started using the now blocked abbreviation.
