Title: Donkey became train, temporarily now a bus
Post by: grahame on October 16, 2017, 07:43:50
For 2nd day in a row, trains replaced by buses between Bourne End and Marlow

Quote
Alterations to services between Bourne End and Marlow
Due to a fault with the signalling system between Bourne End and Marlow the line is closed.
Train services running to and from these stations may be revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Customer Advice
Replacement Road Transport is operating between Marlow and Bourne End and also between Bourne End and Marlow connecting into / out of train services to / from Maidenhead at Bourne End.

Trains may depart Bourne End towards Maidenhead up to 5 minutes later than advertised in order to await the connecting road transport from Marlow.
Further Information
An update will follow within the next 4 hours.

What a good job the problem's not on the main line - I can imagine the cries of anguish if (say) Reading to Twyford as closed for 2 days  ;D

But credit to GWR for holding the train for the bus.  Looks sensible, and a not universal move.

Unless you want to travel beyond Maidenhead? Can't see them holding connections there though? But I guess there's a coffee outlet while you wait
