Title: Smart train launch - Zhuzhou
Post by: grahame on October 25, 2017, 07:48:23
From the Daily Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/peoplesdaily/article-5012187/The-world-s-smart-railway-opens-China.html)

Quote
A futuristic rail system featuring track-less trains and virtual lines was launched in a Chinese city yesterday.

Billed as the world's first 'smart train', the vehicle runs on virtual rail lines through the bustling streets of Zhuzhou in China's Hunan Province, reported People's Daily Online.

The train could travel as quickly as 70kmh, or 43 mph, and carry as many as 300 passengers.

Application suggestions anywhere in the Greater Western territory, anyone?   Or perhaps suggestions for elsewhere the British Isles?

How about Portishead..where we've had train-less tracks for far too long.Save them the time and expense  digging up the line ......

Sounds like a busway to me. In which case we already have them!

Surely in the case of Bristol, the trains will run through deserted streets....
