I don't think GWR management have ever "sincerely" apologised for anything!

The cause apparently: The crew did not sufficiently check the departure time and performed the departure operation 20 seconds early.

Action: We taught the crew so that the basic actions to prevent recurrence are thoroughly carried out.

Best bit is:

"Please note that there are no customer complaints in this matter."

South west trains did this on a very regular basis as the door closing sequence rarely took more than 10 secs of the 30 secs allowed.

A train that leaves early is potentially more of a problem for passengers than one which leaves late. I don't think 20 or even 30 seconds will make a difference though.

I see countless trains leave early due to over zealous dispatch, though never an apology!  :D
