Title: The Friday night rush Post by: CyclingSid on December 08, 2017, 07:28:58 Comparing with the BBC News item http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-sh/the_friday_night_rush, assuming there is a train you can get on how far can you get in an hour using a train? Bristol Temple Meads and Paddington or Waterloo might make interesting comparisons. My limited experience would suggest something over 60 miles from Paddington, although depending on what train you get is it less stressful than driving?

I could be back in Liskeard after finishing at 5 quicker than it takes to do 5 miles in Bristol! But having been in Truro's on a very frequent basis I know that is very bad. That, and my encyclopaedic knowledge of back streets, meant I never got badly held up.
