Title: Level crossing incident Feltham West - 10 Dec 17 Post by: bobm on December 10, 2017, 07:49:20 Likely to be delays all day to trains passing through Feltham today.
Shortly after midnight a car crashed through the barriers at Feltham West and collided with the control equipment for the barriers on the other side completely destroying them. Trains are now having to be stopped and talked over the crossing leading to delays of up to ten minutes. In order to reduce congestion trains to and from Windsor & Eton Riverside have been suspended with tickets being honoured via Windsor & Eton Central and London Paddington. In the end SWR ran a hourly service, initially as a Staines shuttle and then after a couple of hours to Waterloo. So at least a lot of people were saved a very cold miserable Sunday.

If you know Sunnigdale the line emerges between the shops and crosses the dead straight A30 which in the days before the M3 was the major route to Southampton and the West.
