Title: Station improvements at Stonehouse Post by: bobm on February 05, 2018, 18:08:12 Stonehouse on the Golden Valley Line is one of the latest to get a new passenger information system.

I am not sure of the work is complete as the automated annoucements were not working this morning. There is also a problem with other platform furniture being "unhelpful" for those waiting on the London bound platform. (http://www.mbob.co.uk/rforum/stonecisb.jpg) The short platforms have long been a problem for HST services (and indeed anything longer than two coaches) and work is well underway to extend the platforms the Stroud side of the footbridge (http://www.mbob.co.uk/rforum/stoneplat.jpg) (Apologies for the glare caused by the low morning sun.) Each piece has a number sprayed on it to ensure the jigsaw is completed correctly. ...and the people in those houses aren't going to be happy once its commissioned... ::) :P I suspect that location cabinet in the left foreground is not that chuffed either... ;D Title: Re: Station improvements at Stonehouse Post by: CMRail on September 08, 2018, 19:59:38 And yesterday the new platform extensions were opened, unsure if 800 ASDO has been reprogrammed. Platforms can apparently platform 6 (7 HST) carriages. Will take a trip tomorrow to see if they are being used, hopefully they are so the butterfly switch is not required for 166s. Also means only one HST carriage is not platformed.
