Title: Problems Reading to Ascot - 26 Feb 18
Post by: bobm on February 26, 2018, 11:09:04
Problems on the SWR Reading to Waterloo line.

Initially a buckled conductor rail at Bracknell meant no trains could run between Wokingham and Ascot so a shuttle was put on between Reading and Wokingham with buses to Ascot for trains to London.  Now the points have failed at Wokingham and the shuttles cannot be turned there so it is now buses Reading to Ascot.

Well, SWR trains are still crossing the crossing to turn round, though very slowly (there's a 5 mph TSR there at the moment anyway). This is mainly upsetting the road traffic, as the barrier's down so long.

According to the National Rail words, the signalling problem was earlier that that rail. I'm not sure, as both services seem to have stopped at 9:30, before which trains were getting through Bracknell OK. And a GWR trains has at last struggled in too, though 1 hour late and I think without passengers (I don't intend to go out just to look). And now one of them is coming from Reading as if it expects to get through.

Oh, and while the very late GWR trains are now showing as cancelled due to points failure on RTT, it says the SWR trains were cancelled due to a fire.
