Title: Signalling problems 23/4
Post by: TaplowGreen on April 23, 2018, 15:57:39
Looks like it's going to be a long journey home.................

Cancellations to services between Swindon and Bristol Parkway
Cancellations to services between Swindon and Bath Spa
Cancellations to services between Swindon and Gloucester
Cancellations to services between Didcot Parkway and Swindon

- all down to signalling problems - lines have reopened but warnings of 40 minute delays until 1900.

All signalling was lost in the Swindon area. With the Berks & Hants closed that’s led to a shortage of trains at Paddington to form outbound services.

Services are leaving London but a few minutes late and without seat reservations.

Might shelter in the Mad Bishop and Bear for a bit.

Not actually too bad.

The 17:36 to Cheltenham was reported as cancelled but was called just as I walked onto the Lawn at 17:45.

Finally left at 18:00 but train not too crowded as it doesn’t call at Reading. Now passing Challow having made up a bit of time.
