Title: Explosion in Yate 10-05-2018.
Post by: martyjon on May 10, 2018, 22:50:55
About 15 minutes ago my house in Yate was rocked by an explosion. Apparently a petrol tanker involved in an RTA on a stretch of road near the line to Cheltenham blew up. Fortunately there seems to be no casualties cos it was all in the script of an episode of the TV series Casualty which was has been filmed in the Yate area over the past couple of weeks culminating in tonight's event. The episode is scheduled to be broadcast later this year on August 11th. At least the beeb had the courtesy to warn us when the explosion would take place, something they did not do when they were filming another episode involving an explosion on a narrowboat in Bristol's Harbour a few years ago and the emergency services switchboard was inundated with 999 calls from residents from Clifton, Cliftonwood and Hotwells whose homes overlook the harbour area.
