Was this a five vice 10?

Looking down the feed, someone has come up with an interesting name for Hitachi which I won’t repeat.

Don’t need to, just add an ‘S’

So the out of order toilets were full of the brown stuff then.

Does the topic heading need correcting?

Anyway, no cause for concern as "the on board staff are trained to monitor loadings and will intervene if necessary" Was some special event adding significantly to passenger numbers ? Or is this just the consequences of a new shorter train.

It is also implied that the air conditioning was not working properly or perhaps not coping with the crowds.

Correcting? Are you suggesting it's inaccurate?

"2.45 from London to Swansea. No air con, no working toilets, pregnant lady standing and getting crushed by other passengers! No staff to be seen anywhere stopping more passengers getting on!"

I'd say the heading sums it up quite succinctly?

Yes but its May, not August, which is what I assume bobm is referring to

I have no doubt as to the facts, but the date looks wrong ? I presume that this occurred on May 15, 2018.

It sounds worse than I realised, was not aware that all toilets out of order.

Short trains are to be expected, it is called new train disease.

What I find to be as concerning is the reported failure of the toilets and the air conditioning. Why did these important facilities fail on a new train. Are Hitachi liable for failing to provide a train in good working order.
Whilst overcrowding increases the demands on both air conditioning and toilets, these facilities should surely be designed to cope with overcrowding.
Single unit operation is bound to occur, and even a full length train could suffer this sort of crowding at holiday times.

If there is some wiggle room and Hitachi are NOT liable for toilet and air conditioning failures, then such failures will presumably become a regular event.
