Title: Windermere branch Sunday 17 June
Post by: bradshaw on June 17, 2018, 17:49:47
West Coast Railways ran a ‘charter service’ over this branch today, using a class 37 and class 57 top and tailing a rake of three carriages.

Suggestions of a service from Monday?

BBC news reports state that West Coast railways are providing a regular service using heritage locos and stock.
Splendid.

I suspect that many enthusiasts will add to passenger numbers.

Regular users (on Northern Resist Facebook group - sort of Coffee Shop parallel) are not so impressed

So our MP Tim Farron and the Lakes Line User group have organised a shuttle train to run down the Lakes Line. Something Northern was incapable of. Unfortunately it’s from 9-6 so commuters won’t benefit from it. How much do you want to bet this will mean Northern won’t resume services on the 2nd of July as promised. (Original promise was to resume tomorrow) I am so tired of this crap.

Apparently the Dft are paying for this 'service' and not Nothern. We truly live in interesting times.
