Title: Power car named after Mark Carne - 12 Jul 18
Post by: bobm on July 13, 2018, 07:37:21
Outgoing Network Rail Chief Executive Mark Carne had a power car named after him in a short ceremony at London Paddington yesterday evening.

Power car 43013 now carries his name.  It forms part of Network Rail's New Measurement Train which tours the country checking lines for faults.

This is well deserved, he is well respected within NR.  Mark Carne is a people person, he has made workforce safety a key issue in his tenure not only NR employees but NR contractors as well, another key item has been the "digital railway" this is all about collecting data about the condition of assets so that maintenance can be better targeted the NMT has reduce the number of staff that need to go into the four foot to inspect and measure thereby reducing risk to staff
